The centerpieces of Momentum 2015 are the unifying themes of Excellence, Engagement and Expansion.

Excellence—Human excellence is often described in superlatives—distinction, merit, respect, importance, eminence or status. It is also described as achieving a balanced, integrative state. During the next decade, A&M-Corpus Christi will embody both concepts. A vigorous, challenging education will help provide the balanced perspective that a person needs to succeed in 21st century America. And through a commitment of resources and talent, by 2015 the University will achieve national prominence in specific program areas.

Engagement—One of the keys to an institution’s success is its relationship with the larger community. A&M-Corpus Christi will be recognized for endorsing citizenship and service, stressing collaborations within the University and with the community, and educating and preparing students to contribute in both arenas. Whether conducting research on the viability of a downtown initiative, studying the state of our Gulf waters, or remodeling a senior citizens’ center, our students will be engaged with the greater community.

Expansion—In 2015, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi will be aligned with the Closing the Gaps by 2015 initiative of the State of Texas, successfully providing increased access to higher education. By 2015, the student population at A&M-Corpus Christi will grow by at least 50 percent to 12,000 students. To sustain this growth, the University will support and expand existing programs with the needed faculty and staff, facilities and capital resources.
