Bringing a “touch of home” to the Island
Aloha Moms!
The Islander Moms club is a newly formed organization that is not exclusively for moms but created by moms of Islanderstudents. We are an organization separate from the Parents Council. We have 'fashioned' ourselves after another great organization, the Aggie Moms of Texas A&M University in College Station, and we have their blessing to build and nurture this parent organization into one similar to theirs. Our goal this year has been to get the word out about the organization. We intend to enhance the Parent Council, not pull from it.

Our bylaws state the object of this club shall be to promote the welfare and happiness of the students attending Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and to cooperate with the faculty of the University in maintaining high standards of moral conduct and intellectual attainment.

Student with survival bagOne of our main activities is to assemble and deliver Student Survival Bags that were a big hit during finals here at A&M-Corpus Christi and they were great fun to organize. We have a small but growing group of moms, state wide, currently working on all aspects of building this organization into a popular asset of A&M-Corpus Christi . And good news - there will be another Student Survival Bag event held in May. If you would like to continue to receive news from the Islander Moms activities—come and join us, help us make our students feel that there is always a “touch of home” a phone call away. Aloha!
Islander Moms Club is a separate organization from the Parent Council. We are an organization started by a handful of moms that wished to provide the ‘feel good’ support of the students that attend the university. It is our desire to bring a touch of home to the Island and to be family support for our students.

While the Parent Council and other organizations support the students financially, it is our desire to provide the ’mom' support. Although our organization is started by moms, it is not limited to moms. We encourage membership of dads, grandparents, sponsors, guardians, and alumni.

Welcome to the Island University.
