Congratulations! STARs again! Best wishes!

A Message from Dr. Diana Marinez, Dean,
College of Science and Technology

First, a big congratulations to the School of Nursing and Health Sciences on becoming A&M-Corpus Christi’s latest college, under the very able leadership of Dr. Mary Jane Hamilton.

For the past 10 years, the school has been a part of the College of Science and Technology, and we have seen the school grow and mature. The linkages we have forged will continue.

And how about our STAR award! Read how our vision became a reality. The thanks and congratulations go to our outstanding faculty, staff and students who made it happen. Our faculty and students are putting us on the map.

On the programmatic side, our biomedical sciences degree is now in the catalog. And in order to emphasize the importance of science and math teaching in that publication, we have a new section called Science Math Technology Education (SMTE) that brings together all the teacher certification information. This new look was the brainchild of the science and math education group under the able leadership of Dr. Philippe Tissot.

This year we say goodbye to Dr. Alan Berkebile, professor of geology, and Dr. Steve Barnes, professor of chemistry and director of the National Spill Control School. They both provided long years of service to the College and the Department of Physical and Life Sciences. We will miss you, but know that you will enjoy retirement.
