Latina Magazine Editor-in-Chief Addresses Summer 2003 Graduates

Sylvia Martinez, a native of Goliad, Texas, and editor-in-chief of Latina magazine, addressed a packed house of more than 400 graduates and their family and friends at the summer 2003 commencement ceremonies. Martinez graduated with a degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin in 1982. During her 17-year career, Martinez has reported on topics ranging from public education battles to affirmative action issues. She has been featured on CNN, Hispanics Today and Fox’s Good Day New York and is quoted extensively on Latina-related issues.
