Alum Speaks on Breaking Stereotypes in Hollywood

Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi alumna and actress Lydia Blanco spoke on “Breaking Stereotypes” Thursday, Sept. 20, in the University Center Blanco, who graduated in 1997, talked about her struggles and successes in breaking the Hispanic stereotype in Hollywood. She has been featured in the blockbuster film “The Terminal” with Tom Hanks, and has appeared in numerous roles on network TV shows  including “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “Medium,” “The Office” and “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.”

The event, one of many Hispanic Heritage Month activities on campus, was sponsored by the Women’s Center for Education and Service and the Islander Cultural Alliance.
