Assistant Professor Named President-elect of
Texas Educational Theatre Association
Kelly Russell, an assistant professor in the College of Liberal Arts at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, has been named president-elect of the Texas Educational Theatre Association (TETA). He will hold the position for two years then serve as the organization’s president for an additional two years.
TETA’s membership of more than 2,000 teachers and students includes individuals from all levels of theatre education—elementary through college/university. TETA provides a wide range of essential support for its members. TETA’s yearly TheatreFest conference allows members the chance to exchange valuable ideas and attend workshops, presentations, and performances.
The organization also publishes a scholarly journal and a quarterly newspaper. The annual convention, summer workshops, advocacy information, as well as awards, publications and curricular support strive to continually improve the quality of theatre education in Texas.
