Jody Nelsen

Jody Nelsen, associate vice president for Business Affairs at the University of Texas at Dallas, is the new executive vice president for Finance and Administration. Nelsen, who will fill the position vacated by the retirement of Robert L. Lovitt, will assume her new duties on Monday, Aug. 4.

A summa cum laude graduate in Business Administration from Loyola University in Chicago, Nelson began her career at the University of Texas at Dallas in 1991 as manager of Administrative Services. In 1997, she received her Master of Business Administration degree from the university and, after serving as assistant director of the physical plant from 1994 to 1996, she became assistant vice president for Business Affairs. Within that office Nelsen worked as associate vice president for Administration and Compliance and later as associate vice president for Business Affairs. She served as interim vice president for Business Affairs from September 2006 through August 2007.
