Class Receives Certificates of Merit for Service Learning Projects

Cmdr. Bruce Emero from Naval Air Station Corpus Christi presented certificates of merit to students in Dr. Karen Middleton’s Leadership and Managerial Effectiveness Class, after he and other NAS-CC representatives viewed presentations of their service learning projects, Tuesday, Dec. 4.
The class was responsible for four projects for local military personnel who are deployed overseas and their families including sending holiday packages to Iraq and Afghanistan, creating “Returning Heroes” baskets for military personnel and their families, and assisting them with home projects.
In January, the students will tour NAS-CC and welcome military personnel at the Corpus Christi International Airport and present them with “Returning Heroes” baskets. Students will also participate in a the Wounded Warrior Project Charity Run/Walk and Command Challenge to be held Saturday, Jan. 5, to raise money for wounded, disabled and paralyzed veterans. |
