Middle School Students Learn Through Hands-On Activities

Middle school students and science teachers participated in geosciences workshops Friday, Dec. 7, and Friday, Dec. 14, at the Educational Center for Math and Science. |
The College of Education’s Educational Center for Math and Science and the Cabeza de Vaca Earthmobile Project, a grant funded by the National Science Foundation, hosted middle school science teachers and their students from four South Texas independent school districts Friday, Dec. 7, and Friday, Dec. 14.
Middle school students from San Diego ISD, Premont ISD, Riviera ISD and Sarita ISD participated in a variety of earth science activities facilitated by University pre-service teachers and science majors. Activities such as "Agent Erosion" engaged students in hands-on learning about forces that shape our planet. Teachers and students toured the campus after the geosciences workshops. |
